Jackson, WY
Ms. Tennican began her documentary career in the late 1990s working on NOVA science programs for WGBH with independent producers in the Boston area. Since moving to Wyoming in 2002, she has focused on local subjects. Her films explore identity, inclusion and community, and although they are rooted in Jackson Hole, they resonate far beyond the mountain west. Tennican’s award-winning work includes The Stagecoach Bar: An American Crossroads, Far Afield: A Conservation Love Story, and, her current film, Hearts of Glass. All three documentaries have been broadcast on PBS stations across the nation. Hearts of Glass began airing in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The film is the centerpiece of an impact campaign that includes grassroots virtual screenings and partnerships with organizations dedicated to improving employment opportunities and outcomes for people with disabilities.
