Jodi Duke, Ed.D is an Associate Professor of Special Education in the College of Education and Human Development in the School of Education at George Mason University and serves as the Academic Program Coordinator for the Autism Spectrum Disorders Graduate Program. In these roles she teaches graduate level courses in Special Education and Autism, mentors doctoral students and runs the online Autism Spectrum Disorders graduate program.
Dr. Duke is a student-focused, purpose-driven, responsive, creative, practitioner-oriented professor who is passionate about bettering the lives of people with autism and training not only teachers but professionals of all types who serve individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder across their lifespans.
Her research interests include postsecondary transition, supports and services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder including mental health supports.
Dr. Duke received her Doctoral Degree in Special Education and her Master’s Degree in Special Education (Severe Disabilities) from The Johns Hopkins University. She also received a graduate certificate from The Johns Hopkins University in School Administration and Supervision, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from The University of Michigan.
Dr. Duke lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, two children. In her spare time she takes her dogs for long walks, is very crafty, and cheers on all University of Michigan sports teams – Go Blue!
